| This book is an index of Mennonite estates in Russia, mainly between the years of 1813 to 1920. Though most of these estates have disappeared with only open fields in view now, this book provides a link to the past for those searching for family roots. All estates mentioned in any source for this time period and in all areas of Russia are mentioned even though some estates were dissolved and replaced by others. These estates were not only prominent in the Mennonite communities but also in the Russian communities participating in the local and regional government affairs. The book is complete with maps of various estates and regions, biographies of a number of Mennonite estate owners and lists of estates, estate owners, managers and teachers in both Imperial Russia and the Crimea. This book is currently undergoing revision and will ship September 2008. Copyright 2005 Springfield Publishers | |
