Beyond Mist Blue Mountains: Dora's Diary 3
paperback, 200 pages, $8.95
Dora, married and settled into Millstream Orchard Farm in Minnesota, writes in her diary faithfully. A year after they had planned, Dora and her husband Matthew finally go to Belize to work in an orphanage run by Dora's aunt and uncle. There, though she is homesick at times, she recounts their many adventures: a kidnapped child, thieves in the night, escaping down a wild river, watching the breathtaking tropical sunsets, and of course, taking care of all those children.

Through all this, Dora and Matthew wish for a child of their own. Even after three years of marriage, there is no baby. So the adventures continue. They buy a farm in a different Amish settlement in Belize, adopt children (Dora wants a dozen!), and revel in the wonderful people and world God has given them.

Dora and Matthew have returned from working in an orphanage in Belize. They now have eight adopted children and are living on Millstream Orchard Farm in Minnesota. In her journal Dora records blessings and struggles of their family life, with stories from the parents' earlier days. They are busy with home chores, farmwork, helping the neighbors, and times out for jokes, fun, picnics, and relaxation. By caring for each other, they create precious memories.

Rock Garden Ramblings: Dora's Diary 5
paperback, 152 pages, $8.95
Dora and Matthew add their birth baby to their eight adopted children. There's never a dull moment on the farm. Friends and family help with picking (and throwing!) tomatoes on their ten-acre patch. The youngsters play pranks on the hired man and pick up a hitchhiker who wants to work on a farm. They all work, yes, but also have fun: picnics in meadow and mountain, farm frolics, doughnut-making, sledding, skating, and more.

Beechwood Acres
paperback, $8.95
Book 2 in the Joy's Journal Series. In this sequel to Tall Cedars Homestead, Kermit and Joy move to Beechwood Acres in Montana only to discover that someone is living in an old abandoned range shelter on their property. Then there is the visit from Joy's great-grandmother who brought a journal written by her mother when she lived in the Conestoga Valle of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania in the 1700s. Read about the Indian settlement near Weber's Thal; a man who weighed 400 pounds and built a cart because he was too heavy to ride a horse only to discover that the church leaders felt it was too worldly; and the Settlement of the Solitary (later called Ephrata Cloister) who claimed local Mennonites. Would it claim Feronica, or would she marry Yockel, her Mennonite sweetheart. Tears of joy and sorrow bring you to an unexpected ending!

Local sites including The Cloister, Eby's Mill, Saeue Schwamm Shettle, Graf's Spring, Horseshoe Trail, and Weber's Thal, are captured in Julia's thoughts and experiences. She is smitten with the charms of Abe Rittenhouse, a Mennonite schoolmaster, but during a fox hunt near the Blue Ball Run, a young George Glauner is thrown from his horse and is injured. He is carried to the Wittman home where Julia is the maud (maid). His twinkling hazel eyes captivate and charm Julia as well.
