Kerry was growing up and she wasn't sure what was happening to her. Of course, she still loved her parents and brothers. Home was still home. She was not going to run away from home. Neither did she want to run away from herself. But she wanted to be Kerry, a new kind of Kerry.

But how could she explain to her mother what was happening? And especially to her father, who wanted to go on camping trips every weekend. She began to find new interests and new things she wanted to do. Would her parents make the adjustment and would they understand?

How do we deal with crime? It is inescapable. Since 1960, crime in the U. S. has increased 500% while the population has grown by only 41%. What is our responsibility to the victim and the offender? What is the Christian response?

Explore the inadequacies of North American criminal justice systems and discover the alternatives the Bible has to offer. Listen to stories of those involved in the system and from those pursuing a more "restorative justice." Hear clearly God's words of hope, challenge and counsel. Leader's guide included.

"Although Eller's touch is light, his goal is sharply in focus: to let his reader to adopt such a faith in God and His sovereign providence that he is willing to defer to Him who is the Great Avenger, rather than to take things into his own hands as far as His Cause is concerned, including one's own welfare..."-J. Ben Martinez and his parents moved to Texas from Mexico after Ben's brother was jailed for smuggling. Ben jumps at the chance of a summer job at Chisos Mountain Lodge in Big Bend National Park. He likes nature and wants to become a park ranger. At the lodge, Ben works in the kitchen, serves as a hiking guide for tourists, drives to a neighboring town for supplies, and does odd jobs.

Ben becomes a close friend of Wesley Cameron from Indiana, nephew of the lodge manager. Wes had a car back home and lots of money, but he didn't get along with his parents and some of his friends used drugs. Ben introduces Wes to places with unusual names such as Juniper Canyon, Casa Grande Peak, Santiago Spine, Study Butte, and Persimmon Gap. At the end of the summer they enjoy an exciting raft trip down Mariscal Canyon together.
